black af CRIT

A Crit (short for critique) is a structured session where artists present their work to peers, critics, curators, and other professionals to receive feedback. Crits are essential for the growth and development of an artist, as they offer diverse perspectives on the work's concept, execution, and impact.

Crits are even more important for Black artists due to their historical and ongoing marginalization within the art world. Crits provide constructive feedback, community support, visibility, validation, mentorship, networking, and cultural dialogue. They can also be transformative, providing critical engagement with their work that helps them navigate the art world with greater confidence and purpose.

Guest critics (by invite-only) will include curators, gallerists, writers, patrons, artists, art administrators, and others committed to fostering and supporting the growth of Black artists and their work.
